I actually needed some appropriate rap for school once... I also needed some polka, but that's a different story. I used some old-school rap, like songs that were really racy in the 80s-90s. Sir Mix-A-Lot's I Like Big Butts comes to mind.
My friend sent me some Jurassic 5, I'm not sure how approriate the rest of their songs were, but this one, Sum of Us, was almost preachy.
I also used clean versions of several modern raps songs, like Chamillionare's Ridin', J-Kwon's Tipsy, and David Banner's Play. If you use one of these, or another normally-naughty song, make sure it's actually the clean version before bringing it in because it would be VERY embarrassing if you brought in a song talking about women's breasts and marijuana.

Will Smith is appropriate, but some may argue, not very talented. Some good, generally pg-13, socially relevant rap does exist, though. Have a look at K-OS, (http://www.k-osmusic.com/) a Canadian rapper whose music is generally appropriate for pre-teens, or Katastrophe (http://www.katastropherap.com/ , also on myspace at (http://www.myspace.com/katastropherap ). Both are definetly worth checking out. Katastrophe is especially interesting because not only does he come from a spoken word poetry background, he is female-to-male transsexual.
Good luck!

There are plenty of legitimate hip hop artists that don't have to resort to cussing to make their money.
the Pharcyde, Jeru the Damaja, Del the Funky Homosapien, Rakim, A Tribe Called Quest, Q-Tip, old school Roots....etc.
Now, this is REAL hip hop music...so it's not going to be as easily found as some b.s. by 50 or Juvenile.
In the old school days, there was still positivity, there was still progression....now, it's all garbage.

depends on what sort of appropriateness you are searching for, you can find true rap not about bitches and hos if you listen to old school, or you can stick with the modern thug kids and try some friendly christian rap, or c-rap as the kids call it in da hood. hope this was helpful! god bless.

There is no such thing as "appropriate rap music". Rap is never "appropriate" and it certainly is not "music" ... it's total garbage that should be banned off the face of the earth.

i don't think of that's perfect for a bus motive force to be "blasting" any kind of music. it really is purely worry-free courtesy to no longer blast music your passangers do not delight in. and in view that I doubt any large crew of youngsters is going to be able to agree on a radio station, it really is going to easily be left off. Plus, the motive force should be being attentive to the line, how will he/she ever hear a siren or practice over the music PLUS the children?

Or you could always just download edited versions, where everything is appropriate enough for school.
