It is a decision that we make - a committment to another person. Unconditional love is an amazing gift. I believe it is only upon maturity that we have enough life experience to appreciate the feelings that another person can engender in us. It's the abilityto put another person and his/her needs ahead of our own. True love does not leave. That's the difference between mature and immature love. You can control true love because it is a decision that you make. Infatuation, neediness, lust - all sometimes felt to be love, fall away in the presence of the true thing. True love brings with it peace, where the others bring stress and pain.

Your pretty deep guy. Love is all of those qualties wrapped into one. I would have to save primarily though it is an emotion then a choice and then if marriage follows commitment. Discipline follows more in the realm of Marriage can you be happy just with that one person, can you stay faithful, can I make this work for the rest of my life. Love is probavly one of the most confusing and wonderful feelings we can have in our lives and well the choice it comes with the bond we share with that special person. We love as in family even when we are estranged but that I find is completely different then the love we find in a mate for the love we find in a mate is much stronger then the love we feel for family
it is like a protective blanket around our heart and when something happens to that it well tears not knowing this personally but have seen how it happens with my parents having been divorced.

Wow. alot of thought here.
To me Love is how a person makes you feel.
I feel it can descend on us and leave, i do not feel we control it and yes, there is an art to loving. It also falls into the same thing as "passages" Great question!

1 Corinthians 13:4-7
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.
Looks to me like true love is an action, a discipline, a choice, a committment.
It feels good to love and it feels good to be loved, but those feelings are the result of love and not the love itself.

Love is an emotion, but it's also a choice. You don't love someone because you choose to, but you don't fall in love with them at sight. You choose to continue to know them, or maybe you can't control that you see each other often, and decide to commit your life to them, to always be there, to forgive and forget, to be patient, kind, loyal, honest and enduring and tolerant of all their traits, because you love them.
PS. No one is doing my homework, I do my own homework.

Love is a fantasy that everyone tries to make come true.
It is like trying to create a unicorn or finding a pot of gold at the end of a rainbow.

Love is that just love... It is an emotion and a feeling.... Love is kind and unselfish.... It is giving of yourself and not expecting anything in return. You choose to love!

Love can be many things.
For most,
................... lust filled,
................... outright,
................... vivid, and
................... emotional.
For myself,
.................. unconditional,
.................. patient,
.................. kind, and
.................. faithful.
Falling in love is not controllable, though acting on it is...
We may not always like our spouse, but we should always love them. Love and marriage are related, and unrelated commitments.
