she used to be better.
now she's lost touch with reality. she doesn't even cook for herself or have any of the problems other women can except the inescapable ones like menopause. she cant relate to people anymore cos she now has a mansion with heaps of servants and doesn't drive her own car.
she's very judgemental of people who do things she thinks aren't 'normal' and basically says "why you do that?", as if it's a matter of deciding to do whatever it was (shoplift, rip out hair etc)
she's very fond of stereotypes. there was one episode where there was Simon Baker and ... i cant remember her name. a balck actress anyway. they were in amovie about a black woman going out with a white man. so Oprah was all over that about how it's weird cos they're so different, even though quite a number of people (including interracial couoples) were saying there wasn't too much of a difference between a black man/woman and a white man/woman. but Oprah still kept going on with her stereotypes.

she's a bit of a pea-brain, she's inarticulate, she doesn't think well on her feet, she exploits the seedy underbelly of society - and the whiny losers that cling to it - to get rich in a PC environment whose arbiters were just DYING to diefy a chubby, kinda stupid, black woman.
She makes fifty or a hundred times more than people that are within shouting distance of finding a cure for cancer, people that are on the verge of making commercially viable spaceflight a reality, etc. etc. And the best she can do is crawl into some hillbilly's lap (and squirt a few croc tears) while she is whining about getting cheated on. Sell several million ghost-written, putrid self-help type books, and EAT. Yo-Yo between cartoon balloon moon and semi-svelte squashed-in-a-girdle queen and make even more money taking kickbacks from some slobs she periodically makes rich by plugging his/her diet on her show.
What does that say about our society?
And yeah, I know she does the obligatory hand-wringing about the poor huddled masses and all, flopping around Africa in her private jet, before going back to her eleventy zillion room mansion, and asking her advisors how to clip the feeble and comatose female denizens of middle America for another hundred mil or so.
She has to. She is smart enough to realize that. Like Tom Cruise personally using more petrochemicals than half of of the developing countries and screaming about the loss of the rain forest.

I admire her because of all the celebrities... she is using her empire and her friendships to try to make the world better. Yes alot of critics say she spends too much time in Africa and other 3rd world countries. But that is what I really like about her. She is trying to fight the poverty, the mistreatment of little girls, and the Aids pandemic to start with one child at a time and educate that countries children. Empowering them to make a difference in their country. She is an excellent reporter, she's charismatic and can move even the lazest person to be active and give to others.

I watch Ellen, now. Oprah has too many of those pseudo- intellectual, social scientists on her program. I get enough of that social science nonsense right here, on YA.

I completely agree- does she not have a backbone? All she has to do is nicely known that the worldwide has misplaced a "super entertainer" or another dodgy answer like the U. S. President. asserting not something whilst human beings have admire for her does say to me and a great variety of others that she is afraid to lose her "crowd". despite one says approximately MJ one factor is for specific- HE did not bypass approximately parading his charities or motives for the worldwide to work out- what he did grew to become into from his coronary heart; not for coach - so who cares? She, like Obama have shown their actual colours. on occasion in attempting to be "independent" you alienate human beings using fact they then have a not easy time believing that something you assert is actual.

um, yeah she's a "human woman". i think you mean humane. she is helpful to others, but her shows now are pretty much the same: having random celebrities on just to show how many famous people she knows. boring! i like ellen better.

I greatly dislike Oprah.
Perhaps once upon time she really did care about people but nowadays well lets just say her dogs live better then most people.
I really hate it when she has guest on her show and they are talking she keeps bring the focus back to herself.

She's lost all touch with common people. She does have an audience but I think she is even losing touch with them.
