Firstly dont start your story with once upon a time.
One night a little boy (or girl) dreamt was out fishing with his dad on their boat. A mighty storm grew and his father was unable to radio in for help. The sea battered against the boat, tossing it high above the waves and suddenly the little boy fell overboard. His father called out for him "David". But David was slowly disappearing under the waves of the storm and falling deeper and deeper under the sea. Suddenly, he felt something swim by him and he grabbed out in hope that it was something friendly. To his suprise it was a Dolphin. The Dolphin took him far beneath the waves. Going deeper and darker until he couldnt hold his breath any longer and everything went silent and dark. When the David began to awake he wasnt above the waves, or not in his own world that is. David was in a magical kingdom.
"Hello David dont be affraid, my name is Spirit-Dancer"
Said a calm, gentle voice.
David turned round and saw a Beautiful Dolphin.
"Did you say something?" He asked in a quiet voice, as he rubbed his eyes.
"Yes, my name is Spirit-Dancer...............................

Sofina whose eyes shined like shimmering pearls and whose voice sounded like chiming bells. She flew through the water, casting spectrums of light over the fragile waves and carefully dodged any passing sea creatures. Her very aura was that of a bright, white light which seemed to lift her high above all the other dolphins and away into the clouds.

Spirit. Moon beams froze in awe at the sight of her, and the sun fought its way to play by her side. Morning and night, she swam throughout the oceans, eager eyes skirting the coral, squeaking recognition to those select few friends but she swam, always searching, never finding. For although Spirit was the most beautiful creature in the ocean, and although she had scores of friends, she had never felt love; and that, and that only, was what she yearned.

First off, you should never start off a story with Once Apon A Time, because it's boring and predictable, unless you're a kid, in which case...
Fred, who loved to play with his dolphin friends.
