My husband and myself just love Gatlinburg Tn. and want to move there. We are wondering if it's as great to live in as it is to visit. Like the school and jobs and anything one would want to know if they were relocating.

We live just outside of Gatlinburg. I stay at home with our kids, but my husband had no problems finding a job when we moved her about 2 years ago. You learn the back roads really fast, and even though there are LOTS AND LOTS of tourists, we can get from our house to the grocery store without hitting traffic. Besides they have just opened a new road to cut down on traffic. It depends on what type of job you are looking for, and Knoxville isn't that far to travel for work either. We don't have any in school yet, but have only heard good things about the school system.
We love it here. We live in between two mountains, have deer in our yard daily, and have even seen a few bear in our woods.

And here there are tons of things to do, if you have lots of money you can go to shows all the time, and if you don't then you can go take a walk through the mountains. Not to mention if you are local you get in to places for discounted rates. At least most of them. They have Sevier County days where you can get into most places for $5 a person.
We moved here from Ohio, and never regretted it alt ALL!!!!!!!

Visit the Gatlinburg chamber of commerce on line.
Lots of tourists there. A lot of the economy is geared toward the service industry.
I don't know about the school system. You don't say where you're from. That might have a bearing on how you find the schools to be. Gatlinburg, for all its tourists, is still a rural mountain small town. (Those I do know about!) ;-)
Did I mention there are LOTS of tourists????
Which is great if you are a tourist. Not so great, maybe, when you'd just like to drive across town to the grocery store, and the road is clogged with leaf peepers, newlyweds, and nearlydeads.
Still, Gatlinburg IS a nice place.....

There could be a brilliant style of solid places. Gatlinburg is right interior the Appalacian Mountain variety with a brilliant style of solid spots. i've got camped close to there many circumstances, yet by no ability with an RV, so regrettably i'm unable to bear in ideas the names of any RV spots. There are a minimum of a few, and whether no one right here components you greater advantageous information (which isn't likely), all and sundry in that area is particularly outstanding and could element you interior the the final option path. have exciting!
