This is so stupid. I mean if I get money each time I felt offended by jokes in a comedy show, I be freakin rich!

NO.
If he has to pay up,then someone needs to sue Def Comedy Jam,and The Original Kings of Comedy.
Then they can sue NASCAR for making them dizzy...................................................................

NO !! That is ONE of the more assinine suggestions for a personal injury lawsuit.

MORE than likely, there was a notice at the entrance or on the ticket that warned consumers there was the possiblitity of foul language.

Under the First Amendment Mr. Richards had the right to say whatever he wished to say (short of incitement to riot)...

I'm SICK of those who sue for anything and everything... I loved the comment about sueing NASCAR for making you DIZZY.

I think Michael Richards should offer an apology (which he has) but I think this is just another case of sue-happy America. Years ago, someone's word was good enough, but now everyone expects money. Sure he shouldn't have made racist comments, but as long as he said he was sorry (and doesn't do it again), everyone should be cool with that.

This situation suffers from being removed from all context and objectified. But here are the indisputable facts: He is just one guy, one comedian, one night, no blood was spilled, no one collapsed, no one died, no one lost a penny; in addition, the guilty parties have dirty hands (said to be making a disturbance).

Who, in their right mind, would think he owes anybody anything BUT MAYBE a simple, quiet, face-to-face apology from him to the people he insulted directly?

No because he's paid enough, and they know it. They're just out to make some cash. However, I bet Richards will pay whatever they ask; he's going to try to recover as much of his reputation as possible.

HELLO??? Before you say anything about this you should watch the video... he sceams out loud 3 times."look everyone it's a n*****, it's a n*****!" Then he says" we had you N*****s upside down with forks in your a***s 50 years ago sit down and shut up!"
How is the some "simple" joke. Please tell me. If you think that's some small insult I want to know what's big in your mind.

First of all they weren't jokes. ANYONE with a brain would know that if they watched the tape... www.tmz.com
Second yes he should pay up! no one and I mean NO ONE should call a black person the n word. It reflects negatively on you and shows that you have a poor vocabulary. He can't get away with what he did. They were just ordering drinks at a comedy club when some pig headed, has been celeb insults them and their race for being "to loud" WHAT A JERK!!!

He should only pay up if he is going to pay up every person who attended. Racism is offensive to others as well as the race that it offends.

These two are only after money and if they get it, something is wrong.

no he should not pay. he should offer an apology because what he did was wrong, but money and lawsuits are not the answer to every problem. you shouldnt be allowed to sue just because someone called you a bad name. where would it end? lawsuits over whose kid called someone else's kid a poopyhead?

No way should he pay up and not only that anybody actually agreeing that he should is an enemy of our first amendment.
