Are you the same person now?

I could mention several things here, but standing there looking at my father's dead body after he committed suicide probably wins. I felt very intense panic, sorrow, and the worst adrenalin rush I've ever had in my life. I can't really describe what that felt like, but it nearly made my hair stand on end. Raw terror. Am I the same person now? How in the world could I be? It changed everything.

The worst thing that ever happened to me was walking into my babysitters home to find my son abused. How I reacted is to take him to the Emergency Room at the local hospital and let the system work. The doctor turned it in to Children and Youth Services and the woman was investigated. I stayed away from the woman and eventually she called me and wanted paid for the week she last watched my child and wanted to know why I did not call her and tell her what was going on. I was direct and told her the bold truth and refused to pay her. After that I turned it over to God. I was less trusting of people after that but more trusting of God. I am not the same person now because I have deeper walk with God and still some guilt for allowing my child to be cared for by an adult bully...I am intelligent and should have seen the signs. Today I am less naive and more alert and in tune to the souls of others.

My ex-husband moved my best friend into our home 1 week after I moved out, expected us to all be friends, and then married her.

I am certainly not the same person. I went through the worst time of my lie trying to get over that betrayal. He promised me forever, and she promised I could trust her. They both lied. I drank a lot of booze and cried a lot of tears to get through that one.

I will never be the same. I know better now than to trust just anyone, and I am much more picky about my friends. My heart will always have a scar from that time in my life.

My father banged my head against the wall, pushed me down the stairs. Threw me out of the house.
I went crazy.
Yes. I don't trust anyone. But am happier.
