What do you man Santa doesn't exist? As long as you have the spirit of giving in your heart, Santa does exist.

When my son (7) came home with questions, I felt i needed to be honest. He realistically knows that no man could live that long and reindeer really don't fly. That's all fantasy. This is what I told him.
" The idea of Santa is part if the spirit of giving. It is someone who cares about you who secretly wants to give you a special gift and or gifts. It could be your mom, your dad, an aunt, an uncle, a friend or even a stranger."

Honestly, tell her to wait until the kid comes home and asks. Coz one day he'll talk about Santa, and some little jerk will ruin it all and he'll come home and ask about it. Thats just a piece of innocence I don't believe any parent should purposely take away from their child.

They'll usually figure it out for themselves and then ask you just to make sure...that's what happened with me and my sisters. My husband found out because one of his toys said "made in China" and he figured...shouldnt they be made at the north pole???
I honestly wouldn't tell him. When I found out, I really didn't care much but when christmas came I remembered how it felt to believe and wished that I could believe in him because of how much fun it was. I'd let them be kids and believe as long as they could and when they had a feeling it may not be true then break it to them when it happens.

I only have a 5 month old so I haven't had to go through that yet but I'm going to let her believe as long as she can.

No Santa? Are you kidding, when my 20 year old son asks me where I got his gift, I say "Santa brought it". He laughs and does not ask again.

To tell you the truth I knew that Santa wasn't real by age nine. Did she ever ask him if he thinks he's real because you never know until you ask.

No-one actually told me, I figured it out by staying up late one night and listening to what was going on outside my bedroom- people going up and downstairs, and the rustle of carriers and presents and stuff- perhaps this boy will figure it out this year if he hasn't already :)

Why would anybody want to ruin that magical time for a child???
The child will figure it out on his own in a few years. Until then, let him be a child and enjoy the magic of Christmas.
