Two years now. when I served my indentured apprenticship it was 3 years that included compulsory further education, I then had to serve a further 2 years as a journeyman before I was recognised as a craftsman. Todays apprentices will never mathch up to the old time craftsmen.

it's depend what kind of diploma you want. if you do a NVQ, you do it in the same time as you work and it can take 3 years if you go up to the level 3
