How is everyone else doing in the class? I have heard of teachers that grade really hard and then curve a lot at the end of the year. So a %50 turns into an A grade.
I suggest talking to the teacher and seeing what the teacher has to say.
Always-> If you are doing badly in a class you should always go to the teachers office hours. If a teacher knows you and knows that you are trying, they are more likely to give you a better grade. Even if you aren't doing badly, go to the teacher's office hours! There is a big difference between a B+ and an A-.
Consider a tutor. Some colleges have free tutoring!!! Use all of your college resources, you are paying for it.
If you can still withdraw/drop from the class you should consider doing that. Don't just quit going if you can't drop the class!! If you can't drop or withdraw from the class formally with your registrar’s office then continue to show up if you have to retake the class. The more you learn now the better it will be the next time you take the class.
Beware if you don't drop or withdraw the class officially, many schools, if you are retaking a class will average the two scores together. So if you get a 1.00 this time and an 4.00 (A) next time your overall grade is considered to be a 2.5.
As for Financial aid depends on the school. Many schools will give you one semester to mess up. They will consider you on probation and take action if you don't improve.
Also if you drop the class you could lose some financial aid and have to pay whatever the school makes you pay for a late drop out of your pocket.
See a Financial Aid counselor.

Since it is so late in the semester I would try to see if you could get it audited. Im not sure if it will hurt your financial aid. It will most likely take off the amount you owe. I would just keep going so you know what to expect next time you take it.

you should go and atleast try to understand it, take notes and work really hard at it (no late night partying :-) ) and ask your teacher for help when you dont get. Dont just give up because you feel like it. Besides its gonna be more hassle in the end to retake it.
