It's about someone who loves another person and passes them by and doesn't realize that they've hurt them until they are gone...

yes, i think. shes singing that shes hurt for blaming someone about something that she didnt do. yet, in the video, it shows her meeting her father after so many years, so it could be about being reunited. Honestly, i have no idea what this song is about. check out a lyrics website and try and evaluate from that.
P.S. the video made me cry :(

It is about not forgiving her father for hurting her and her mom...but later figuring out he was going through a hard time and was only trying to protect and provide for them

i got here upon the total album "decrease back To fundamentals" to be relaxing, and the music "damage", at the same time as it isn't my well known Xtina music, remains a sturdy piece. effective to confirm her continuing to hit upon sorts of music. She's between the most proficient and versatile singers, for my section.

No it is about her mother. She is saying "I'm sorry I couldn't listen to you and forgive your mistakes when you tried to get through to me and I'm sorry I couldn't realize all this until it was too late." Her mom died and I guess they weren't on the best terms with each other. This is def about her mother b/c she has another song to her father which is titled "I'm OK".

i read something about how her dad was abusive to her and that song is about that relationship and how she's sorry she blamed him for things he didn't even do...but I think it might be about an ex or somethign...but, then her husband wouldn't really like that...so yeah, i completely put out that idea...anyways
