The one thing i noticed is the fact that they still see minority as behind and they still aren't acknowledging the fact that people no matter should still have the same chances as anyone else. people are intellegent, smart as long as they aply them selves. Anyone can get where they are going, as long as they respect, live and learn that people are people.! The only other thing i did see, i guess, people still want to see and once they get used to the same old, same old they don't want it any other way. so they do what they do, people will do what they do to still break down those things.

i think that there turned right into a stereotype suggested forth for youthful Akeelah because she grew up in undesirable community. maximum folk do not have self belief that those that stay the way she did could have any intelligence in any respect. She became able to practice the international how wise she became with the help of doing something she got here upon exciting that her father taught her.

Uh. . .Why?
I liked A&theB, it dealt with a serious and overlooked subject matter, a young balck girl's quest for education
THE WHOLE MOVIE WAS FULL OF STEREOTYPES
(well, all movies do, stereotypes are the tools of stroytelling in the mass movie format)
the inteligent girl who is written off
the black family struggling after the father is dead
the anger black man as mentor
the happy Mexican as befreinding all
the Chinese kid being pushed by his father
THe Chinese father as driving his kid into an education instead of having a childhood
THe hapless white guy as principal who can only exploit the balck girl's talents
the black brother as drug dealer
the over worked balck mother who cannot make time for her children
is this enuff?

The movie was way too stereotypical. The angry African-American mom, the Chinese hard-working Chinese son who was pressured by his Dad to win the competition. Plus, the tough spelling coach.
