New Yorkers seem to over-pronounce their R's, but then again, I'm from New England and we don't pronounce our R's at all, lol. If I were you, I'd listen to someone with a thick accent, like Fran Dresher or Leah Remini, and then try to emulate them. That always works for me when I need to speak with an accent. Good luck.

there is no accent. but what alot of them do have is a new jersey accent. watch some movies based in new york maybe you will get some ideas

Don't try to attempt it yourself or you will crash and burn. Go to the Library and check out and audio tape w/ the NewYork/ Northern Accents and that will help you tremendously! NO kidding well break a leg!

i live in the state next to new york and i no someone in my class from new york too. and based on him.....................just talk without saying sum of the letter sound in words. lol ;) good luck*
