Fake. I've never found a compelling reason to kill a living tree just so I can use it for a bit of holiday decoration. That seems very shallow and wasteful to me. The one time I had a real tree was when one was tossed out by a local sorority house after a single afternoon's party. I took it inside and decorated it. They just chucked it into the alley as if it meant nothing to them, still with some decorations attached to it. They didn't even leave it up for Christmas, but just threw it away after one afternoon.

I have a fake tree and am extremely happy to gone that way a number of years ago. The truth is that many of the products that we buy every day are made from something practical, yet are made to look like something else. Natural Christmas trees are a lot more expensive and a huge pain in the butt.

This is my first xmas with my husband, we are just going to go to a stand and get a real tree there. there is nothing better than the smell of a real tree in your living room. Fake. Though my cats and Fat Beagle Boy would prefer a real one to chew, climb, and jump in. They love the pine smell.
This is why we have a fake tree.

Fake....but the one we bought looks very real. That's why we like it.
One drawback....I really miss the smell of a fresh-cut Noble Fir (my personal favorite)
