1999, 2002: the introduction of the Euro (world financial markets 1999) (form of exchange(real money) 2002).
Late 80's and 90's the break of of Jugoslavia into serbia-montenegro, Bosnia hertzegovina, croatia, slovenia, Kosovo and macedonia.
2005: The failure to ratify a new European constitution and its effects on peoples perceptions of the EU
