The number you are talking about is "- 0.8" On a number line, the negative numbers are on the left, the positives are on the right, and the positive and negatives are separated by 0 (zero). As you can see, the -0.8 is somewhere between 0 and -1, but closer to -1.

-0.8 is nearly -1. On a horizontal line, it will be slightly to the right of -1. I'm not sure what exactly you are asking...
