Mine keeps making clanking noises and hissing. It's an older radiator -- metal and has a knob that you can turn.

Honey: get yourself a pliers and a pail about the size of an ice cream gallon pail. The radiator has to have the pump running, you can tell if it's on, the heat will be on. Then with the pail under the turny thing twist the thing until its loose, lefty loosy, righty tighty, remember those words, the basics of plumbing. then with you fingers carefully turn it until water comes out, it'll be dirty black, leave it run until it starts to steam. When that starts start closing the valve. When it's close, give it a little love snug with the pliers and go to the next one. Do the same. When there all done, your a plumber 101.

I am going to assume that the radiator in is in your house. not in the car..It must be a steam radiator. If it is your house call a plumber or heating company that can repair a steam system.. Ask the question. A lot of plumbers and hvac guys don't know steam systems.. I assume it is an old system and there is water trapped in the system somewhere. There are traps in the system that can cause problems. I do not know enough about steam to advise you, except for,it is not a job for a home owner.

there is a small bleeder valve on the side of the radiator. I takes a special hex wrench to loosen it. open gently, let air come out until it starts to bubble and then pure water. You will have to bleed all radiators in the house.
