Hell no! Sometimes it's hard enough living now! Why would I want to live forever?! Ha ha
I would like for my paintings & songs to live on forever. I would like to be remembered. But myself, or this body anyway, I would prefer to just do my allotted time & then leave my body & have my soul slip into the next dimension (the afterlife, preferably Heaven!)

I think the idea of being given immortality is a huge one to contemplate. When I think about immortality, of course I think about not dying, but also about the responsibility that goes with a being who is immortal. This is not a responsibility I would want to shoulder. I rest comfortably with the knowledge that my time is now and that it will come to an end.

people saying that they'd have to watch everyone they know die, well, yeah that'd be horrible, but you'd have the chance to make friends with more people. people in the future. I might be alright about being immortal if it were kind of in a vampire-ish way, so i'd have vampy friends in the same position as me and it's not *really* immortality because if ever i wanted to die all it'd take would be a stake through the heart. it's true that it's a big responsibilty, and there'd be a lot of baggage that would come with it. who knows if it'd be worth it? i think, given the oppertunity, i'd like to find out. however, i'm sixteen and am making bad choices daily, so i could very well be wrong :P

To answer the question you need to clearly define immortality, otherwise you get what we have here a semantically divided group of answers...
i.e.
Would you still be able to feel pain?
If you mean a life lasting for an infinite time what about when the earth was gone, living in a vaccuum?

I don't want to be alive when the world ends. I don't know how and I don't know when, if ever it does, I just don't want to see it. I would want to say yes, because part of me wants to be immortal, I wouldn't fear death, knowing that it wouldn't come. But as it's already been said, the suffering and loss that I would have to go through would probably kill me anyways. This world is too hard to live in forever.

no..
1) i wouldn't want to see all my loved ones die and be left alone
2) what would happen when the world ended and i was left alone with nothing and no one but could not die to go to heaven?
3) what if some horrible accident happened and i was left as a vegetable and wanted to die but couldn't?
4) what if a natural disaster happened and i was trapped for an eternity under a mountain and no one could reach me?
there are endless reasons that i would not accept immortality.
:)

Yes, on a few conditions.
That I would not age anymore, that any serious wound to my body would heal and that I would have the ability to be killed/cease to exist in a particular manner.
So I wouldn't mind being one of the Immortals from Highlander to be honest.

Friend - I would not choose immortality. Immortality would mean watching those you love age and die over and over and having no power to help them. To me, this would be the essential hell. GB

It would be living hell, after a millenium, i would be bored to death and commit suicide....true story....just as the greek Syphlus (sp) having to push a boulder up a hill for all eternity....day after day. And besides, i've heard that absolute power corrupts absolutely....this can be said of immortality too.
