Usually on a Mercedes you want to go with at least full synthetic oil, 1 for the most power, 2 better fuel economy (engine doesn't run rough) and 3 that your engine will last longer because of the less heat that will be generated from the synthetic oil.

Premium, the owner's manual says anything under 91 octane will damage the engine. You will feel real smart when you trash your engine so you can save what, $0.15/gallon? In addition to making your engine knock and ping as you force it to run on the crap gas, you will also lose some torque and HP. Bottom line: Price of Premium < Cost of major engine repairs

Use whatever the manufacturer recommends, be it gasoline or synthetic oil.
You can afford a MB, you should be able to swing the maintenance costs.

Yes, it requires full synthetic oil. It's all spelled out in your owner's manual; give it a read.
