You can find this answer right at the beginning of the Bible--Genesis.
When God made Adam and Eve, they had the prospect of having eternal life on that paradise. There was but one law that God gave them. That law was a reminder for them that they have a ruler, God. If they obey, they won't get punished. If they disobeyed they get punished w/ death. God said: 'you can eat all the vegetations, and the fruits in this Garden, except for the fruit of the tree of knowledge. If you EAT you DIE.'
History would have been different if they did not disobey. Adam and Eve would still be alive if they did not rebel against God. And, earth would be a paradise. And, no one would have doubted that God really exist.

It seems that all of us die. A very few have found the secret of immortality, but with so much time they soon realize it is much more interesting to die. Everything, in Nature, is conserved. Every atom, every bit of energy, so life never dies, it only contantly changes.

Circumstance. If you live in Africa, you're more likely to die of diseases where you have higher chances of living if you're in the United States or Canada. Canada has great health care. It all depends on where you live. May I quote, "Location, Location, Location!"

people die because it is their time to die, others live because they still have more quests to complete before death...maybe not even quests maybe tests...maybe life is a test and when your finished then you die?

Nature, but that is for the bodies you don´t die me neither.
Sorry there is another reason if you don´t take good care of your body it dies and you can kill other bodies too.
