Here is something for you to try. Go get into your car and take it to about 90 miles per hour. Make sure your seat belt is on, then slam on the breaks. Write down the result. Do the same thing again without using a seat belt. If you are still in the car, write down the results. Otherwise, common sense should tell you how seat belts are useful in terms of velocity and speed. Thank you.

Evidence??? I wasn't thrown out of my car and killed when I went off a highway coated with ice. I went down a steep slope and hit several trees before landing in a swampy area. Thanks to the seat belt I did not crack the windshield with my head.

Because I was belted in I was able to climb from the car and stagger up the hill to the road where I flagged down a sand truck. Because of the terrain we could not see my car from the road.

If I had smacked my head I would have died from exposure.
