If you are having a "normal" pregnancy and your doc has not said that you are high risk for anything then by all means, shovel away. A few words of advice though, take your time, if you feel like you can't do it then don't, ask for help from someone. I have a February baby and a March baby and I shoveled snow with both of them except for the last month on both of them because my doc put me on restricted bed rest (no strenuous activity). If you feel comfortable doing it then you should be fine, and they say that a bit of exercise is good for you and the baby. And by all means next time you see your doc talk to him/her about it.

Depends on how you do the shovelling, and how fit you are in the first place. If you have to really bend down and compress the abdomen it could possibly be harmful. Exercise in general is pretty safe and probably beneficial. But a lot of people overdo it with snow shoveling -- its pretty physical and more exercise than many workouts.

It depends on how accustom your body is to physical labor. If your muscles are built up to doing such things, it shouldn,t harm you or the baby. Still caution is something to keep in mind. Don't lift to much at a time, & stop to rest often. If there is a great deal of very wet heavy snow might be better to pay some one else to do it. Just be careful. Slipping & falling is dangerous, keep that in mind.

You can try, but if it feels uncomfortable, or you're not comfortable with the amount of exhertion you are putting out, stop. Don't hurt yourself or the baby.
I would actually say that since the first 12 wks of pregnancy are the most crucial for miscarriage, not to do this unless you are used to it.

nicely, i imagine that you being pregnant has not something to do with your question because like you suggested you're absolutely 5 weeks pregnant. the very incontrovertible fact that you're ill is something your husband desires to understand. until eventually he would not love you and needs you to get sicker and die then he ought to guy up and shovel the snow himself. If he's too drained from operating complete time, then you definitely both ought to guage hiring the youngster next door or finding a provider to help you. you're ill and want time to get extra powerful earlier heading outdoors for guide not difficulty-free paintings...(no pun meant!!) i desire you experience extra powerful quickly.

why not ask some nice man to do it instead, it probably wont do anything bad, mild exercise is acceptable. Maybe shovelling snow is a bit excessive!!

Any exercise/yardwork is fine during pregnancy. I mowed lawns my last trimester during 120* weather (Altus, OK summer 2000). Just listen to your body and take it easy, make sure that you're following proper safety like dress, staying warm, hydrated, etc. Have fun!!!
