I purchased a new iPod shuffle for my husband. It will not charge on his computer, but it will charge on mine. He has a Compaq (2002 model). I have a Mac PowerBook (2004).

When he connected the iPod shuffle to the Compaq the first time, it told him to upgrade to a 2.0 USB port. He put in a new 2.0 USB port but it still does not charge or register the shuffle on his computer.

He has installed iTunes and he has installed and re-installed the iPod shuffle with no luck.

Can you help us out?

it's not the iPod shuffel.. it's his computer i think that u should take his computer some were, were they can see what is the problem with it because i have a Compaq 2002 model and it lets my iPod shuffel charge and put songs in it.... so, i dont think that there is something wrong with the iPod. that's all i can say... because if it works on your computer and not his.. then, like i said u gotta go fix his computer.

from what i understand itunes has to be running while you charge your shuffle. if that doesnt work i suggest going back to the apple store and get a new one
