George Washington started out as a Nonpartisan but because of factions within the first congress, they went
to the Federalist and the Democrat-Republican parties.

i think personally he would choose to be nonpartisan. In his farewell speech, he warned future generations away from political parties, fearing they could cause too deep a divide within the country. I'm pretty sure he didn't like how people would tend to vote strictly by party

i dont think he was any affiliation. He ran unopposed
