My Iguana (Drako) just passed away 2 days ago. I had always wanted an Iguana and a Rosy Boa. My husband told me one or the other. I now have the option to get my Boa, but I am not sure I am ready or that I really want another animal.

I'm sorry to hear about your loss.

Only you can answer that question. Rosy boas are just pie to deal with. They are small, placid, docile and don't require a large area. Next to an iguana, rosy boas are peanuts. They don't compare.
Iguanas, as you surely already know, require a lot of room, a lot of room, a lot of attention, and sometimes, a lot of vet bills. If you want another iguana, and are already set-up to accomodate one, go for it! The only drawback I see is if by your original iguana died through something you did, ie too small cage, wrong food, or whathaveyou. But you sound like you loved your iggy, so I don't think that's the case.
Like I said, next to an iggy, a rosy boa is nothing. It just needs a small tank, and a feeding / cleanup on a weekly basis (fresh water daily, of course).

However, since you aren't sure, don't do anything yet. Take the time to grieve for your iggy and decide what you want to do next. Read caresheets, participate on forums (kingsnake.com, reptilescanada.com), visit zoos and petstores, and give yourself time to decide what you really want to do.

How old was the iguana?

Did Drako die as a result of bad husbandry?

Iguanas require a great deal of specialized care.

Whatever you decide to do, research the needs of your next pet before you bring it home.

You raised an iguana so you obviously know what it takes to take care of a reptile, if you really want it I would say go for it and enjoy it they are beautiful snakes even for the price, If you aren't quite ready just wait a little while then get it, you say you have always wanted one so get it, Life is short enjoy every minute.

Wait a while(at least a few weeks). Then get ur boa. When an animal passes, it helps to have another to cheer u up!

human beings on earth consume maximum issues different than cockroaches. some human beings limit themselves to locusts and particular animals mutually as others would even savor one yet another. confident cannibalism nonetheless exists, to no count if all this animal eating is "incorrect", is a style you will would desire to make up your individual ideas approximately. in basic terms one greater difficulty - be certain which you do are eating a steak that got here from a beast with out bovine spongiform encephalopathy (BSE) and so avert contracting the human variation Creutzfeldt-Jakob sickness (CJD), regardless of the way the animal met its destiny - humanely or inhumanely.

As you may already know reptiles need very specific care and environments.....So if you are not sure if you are ready for another animal you should definitely wait. Think everything through and decided when you are more sure and financially ready to care for an animal.

You probably need to get over the death of your last animal first. On the other hand, if you get a new one now, that would help you get over the memory of the last one. I went through a similar situation. I didn't quite get over the loss until a new pet was brought into our home. I hope this helps.

This is totally up to you. You may want to wait before you get another, or you may not get one at all. For now, I would suggest you not get one; that way you don't get one and decide afterwards you don't want it. You'll know when you're ready.
