Why not get her a personalized ornament or scarf, or even a couple of personalized hand-towels (Christmas ones) for her bathroom. I don't know any 60 year old who doesn't like that, or a warm scarf with initials, or some nice warm gloves or a hat. If you notice what kind of jewelery she wares, maybe some nice earrings with a pretty necklace, or even some...(and I'd LOVE this and I'm close to 60) Oil of Olay body lotions. They have so many different kinds and the fragrances are so pretty.
That's just a couple of ideas.

If your supervisor has family that live faraway...Give her a airline ticket so she can visit them.
Give her a weekend she will never forget. This would include a stay over night in a city you can get to by car. Take her out to a show, a great dinner, and shopping.
Give her a memerable gift that each one has given much thought. Example;
A specialy unique photo frame
Make a special payment on a overdue bill

Consider a personalized basket following her interests for example:
- if she is a booklover: Fill a basket with best-sellers or books and magazines related to the book lover's hobbies and interests.
large coffee mug,flavored coffee, a variety of teas, comfy slippers, an assortment of decorative bookmarks, neck pillows (great to use while reading ) bookends.
- FEMALE BABY BOOMER GIFT BASKET
Fill a basket with books and magazines on women's health issues; a variety of herbal teas; skin care lotions for maturing skin; gentle hair care products with herbal scents; skin care accessories, such as sponges, brushes and loofahs;
humorous coffee mugs; Beatles CDs, for the memories.
- FONDUE GIFT BASKET
Stuff an enamel fondue pot with blue cheese, Swiss cheese,
crusty breads, nuts, figs, apples apricots. Outfit each fondue set with matching plates or bowls, color-tipped fondue forks and candles or burners.
Hopefully that helps!!

I think the Harry and David gift baskets are a great idea and they are excellent gift ideas for all price ranges:
http://www.harryanddavid.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/BECHomePageView?storeId=10051&catalogId=10002&langId=-1&siteID=k40132&cm_ven=Search%3APaid%20Inclusion&cm_cat=Yahoo&cm_pla=Yahoo%20SSP&cm_ite=%20Yahoo%20SSP
Another idea are the lotion sets from Bath and Body Works or The Body Shop.

They also have a nice set from Mary Kay called Satin Hands that is great, leaves hand super smooth.

Mary Kay also have other gift sets to choose from too.
Good luck!
