Mississippi mud, sugar cookies, lemon/pumpkin bars, sweet potato pie. These are all easier that you think to make and most all cookbooks or online sites have the recipes. The best recipes for the sugar cookies is on the back of a back of Wal-Mart brand sugar. Also, for dips get Knor's vegetable soup mix and make a spinach dip or Lipton's onion soup mix for a onion dip. Very simple, but you get the credit of saying you made it yourself!

A standard holiday cookie in our family was always the shortbread cookie. You can roll them in a tube shape, refrigerate them and then cut them into circles, or your can roll out the dough and cut them with cookie cutters and decorate when baked. Very versatile.

Website for shortbreads as well as other cookies - below.

Merry Christmas and good treat eating!

christmas cookies. chex mix, and other snacks are fine.
For the cookies use the philsberry doughboy kind. I remember having those one year and they where really good.
If you want to serve drinks too, most prefer hot cocoa with whip cream or mashmellows. Eggnog is another option.
