Depends on the beverage. My daily drinks start with 16 oz milk then 20 oz coffee then 48 oz water and orange juice somewhere in between but mainly water. No carbonated liquids for me or alcohol. But for you ! I don't know.

If you haven't started drinking already, you must be dead. I started drinking shortly after I emerged from the womb...or so I was told.
Of course the main question is, what should you drink. I would suggest you avoid anything with high fructose corn syrup. They say it can lead to diabeties. I even buy my coca colas from Mexico where they use real sugar...you can also find Dr. Pepper with real sugar and many of the better stores sell softdrinks flavored with real sugar.
You might consider drinking water, but I would recommend filtered water.
Tea and coffee can be good, but caffine taken in large amounts might effect your nerves and perhaps even lead to spastic colon.
Now if you are referring to alcohol, most places say you shouldn't drink until you are legally allowed to do so. As to when you should start drinking red wine for your health, in moderation of course, check with your doctor.
Avoid beer. If your goal is to get drunk, drinking beer takes too long. If you drink hard liquor quickly you will be able to vomit more easily. Consider vodka and gin as they usually provide less of a hangover, same for white versus red wines. If you want to get drunk, don't eat alot of food as the food tends to absorb the alcohol and it will take you longer to get drunk, plus, when you start to vomit, the less food you have in your tummy the better.
Also, should you decide to really get drunk, be sure to bring along a friend who can stay sober. They can serve several purposes like...keeping you from walking in front of traffic, taking home someone you wouldn't like to wake up with in the morning, they can also video tape you so you will be able to see what you look like when you are drunk...keeping in mind that they will probably help themselves to all of the cash in your wallet since you won't know what's going on.
Perhaps none of these observations will change anything, but whatever you do, if you want to be polite, keep a barf bag with you until you get the hang of drinking. And be sure to have some asprin handy.
From my perspective, some days really do call for a martini, however, learning to drink in moderation can be a bit like learning how to ride a bicycle...sometimes you have fall down before you get it right.

start drinking at 21, stop abt 50/ that will pretty much ruin any possibility of potential
good luck and smile big even when your kidney rots
p.s. if you really wanna do it right/ smoke too/ that way your lungs will fit in with the rest of your body

about 25, cuz legal drinking age is 21, so give it about 4 year before you can drink everyday
