first visit always includes a pap. They want to make sure you and your baby are healthy from the get go. They will weigh and measure you. expect to answer a family health questionaire. it is very important to have that info available. blood work is usually dont at this time to. They will do a complete physical. If you haven't had a pap done in the past 12 months they will do one tomorrow. They will also calculate your due date, prescribe prenatal vitamins, and give you a "new mom" package (it has coupons, formula, and a prenatal magazine). They will also take your blood for some tests that are routinely done. I forget what those blood tests are but they will explain everything. It is a good idea to have a notebook of questions that you have for the doctor. I kept one for each month of my pregnancy. You can write them down anytime one pops into your head. This helps you not to forget. They will also schedule your next visit which is usually at one month intervals until you hit 28 weeks. At 28 weeks you are seen every other week until you are 36 weeks and then it is every week until your baby is born! Congrats!

paper work, blood work, questions, depending on your last ob check up a pap smear and/or just the exam. Determination of fetal due date from the date of your last period. If you don't know that, they may do a vaginal ultrasound to determine how far along you are. If they decide on the ultrasound they will go ahead and check for the hearbeat, position of the embryo, size and shape of the uterus, the amount of fluid it contains. You will get all your prenatal info, which I suggest you read and understand all the tests that they may offer you. Good Luck.

I have 4 kids so listen good!!! At your app. you will be weighed, blood pressure checked, urine taken, possibly a finger prick, and an female exam done to check the position of your uterus and cervix. Depending on how many weeks you are pregnant, they may check for a heartbeat. If you're more than 9 weeks they may be able to find a faint (light) heartbeat. If you're below 9 weeks they'll check for the heartbeat between 9 and 12 weeks of pregnancy......GOOD LUCK !!!

Depending on how far along you are...
A complete interview on your medical history with a nurse, bloodwork, a pelvic exam and possibly a pap if you need one, and an internal ultrasound to check the fetus.
Good luck and have fun!!

You'll get tested for every std, they will ask you about all of yours and your parnters medical history, you'll get a pap smear, and a ultrasound along with a million magazines and stuff on pregnancy and parenting. You'll also more than likely get a pre-natal pills prescription along with iron pills prescribtion
