What have you been eating? There are certain foods and beverages that cause heartburn during pregnancy and even at other times. Spicy, acid foods, peppermint and chocolate are the biggest offenders, and should be avoided. Your doctor will recommend meds for you that are safe to take during pregnancy. Meantime, sleep with your head slightly elevated tonight. Use two pillows instead of one. This keeps the stomach acid from backing up into the esophagus. Eat a light, bland diet tonight for dinner, and don't over-stuff yourself. Eat slowly and chew your food thoroughly. Sip, rather than gulp liquids. Avoid iced drinks, coffee or tea, which are acidic. See if these hints help somewhat. And like I said, your doctor will be able to prescribe a safe stomach soother for you. Good luck!

Heartburn No More has taken a little more than a decade to complete. During this period, Jeff Martin conducted detailed trials, experiments, and studies on heartburn, acid reflux, GERD, and digestive disorders.

Does Heartburn No More actually work?
Surprisingly, the steps and plans given in Heartburn No More actually work. The book has received a significantly high success rate of around 95 percent, which is more than what can be said about most other instant health remedy frauds in the market today. The treatment process given in the book has helped the author cure his condition himself, and it has done the same for several other people. The best part about the treatment given in this book is that it gives you nearly instant relief from heartburn and cures you of the disease within a very short span of time as well. However, the author is honest enough to note that the effectiveness of the treatment given in the book depends on the severity of a patient’s condition.
The effectiveness of the program outlined in the book probably comes from the author’s own personal experience with the condition and his decade-long search for a better cure. The book clearly reflects the thoroughness with which Jeff Martin has done his research. It provides extremely detailed information on heartburn and acid reflux, the current treatment programs being used and their flaws, and the treatment outlined by the author and its detailed working.
It is clearly a book that backs up its claims with a very powerful treatment program. It also sheds light on the different treatment methods being used today. Nevertheless, you should remember that the effectiveness of the program is dependent on you alone. Heartburn No More is an investment in terms of time, money, and effort, and you should make the investment if you are ready to change your life completely.

I would pay attention to your diet to find out what's triggering your heartburn. When I was pregnant with my first son, processed meats gave me heartburn (ie hot dogs, bologna) With my second son, 10 years later, I found that lemonade gave me heartburn. Once you find out which foods trigger it, then you can avoid them and hopefully the heartburn will stop.

Watch what you are eating, milk it does it to you. So watch what you eat that has milk in it like ice cream and cheese etc. Of course your spicy foods.
I had heartburn so bad with 2 of my pregnancies because I carried so high it made it worse. I had Tums with me at all times.
Watch what you eat and see what triggers it and don't lay down after you eat, also don't eat before bed.

I had this when I was pregnant with my oldest. Talk to your OB like you already mentioned so he/she can check out your esophagas and other organs to see if you have acid reflux or other conditions. Another thing to remember is due to the baby your organs get pushed around. As the uterus increases in size your other organs get moved and squished so your stomach is probably isn't very happy.
INDIGESTION
Try not to chew with your mouth open, talk while chewing or eat too fast. This causes you to swallow too much air, which can aggravate indigestion.
Drink fluids after rather than during meals.
Avoid late-night eating.
Try to relax after meals.
Avoid spicy foods.
Stop smoking.
Avoid alcoholic beverages.
Eat small meals so the stomach does not have to work as hard or as long.
Eat slowly.
Avoid foods that contain high amounts of acids, such as citrus fruits and tomatoes.
Reduce or avoid foods and beverages that contain caffeine.
If stress is a trigger for your indigestion, re-evaluating your lifestyle may help to reduce stress. Learn new methods for managing stress, such as relaxation and biofeedback techniques.
Smokers should consider quitting smoking, or at least not smoking right before or after eating, as smoking can irritate the stomach lining.
Cut back on alcohol consumption because alcohol can irritate the stomach lining.
Avoid wearing tight-fitting garments because they tend to compress the stomach, which can cause its contents to enter the esophagus.
Do not exercise with a full stomach. Rather, exercise before a meal or at least one hour after eating a meal.
Do not lie down right after eating.
Wait at least three hours after your last meal of the day before going to bed.
Sleep with your head elevated (at least 6 inches) above your feet and use pillows to prop yourself up. This will help allow digestive juices to flow into the intestines rather than to the esophagus.

Not really. Just keep taking the tums and maalox. The doctor can prescribe you something. My doctor did and thank goodness, because the heartburn I get it so bad. Nothing works except for what the dr has given me.
