I've lost touch with friend from highschool..i know his name and the province he last lived in..any searches i can do to find him? thanks

go to Classmates.com and search by the name of the highschool.You can see a list of everyone who has registered in that graduating year. But I think it costs you 30 dollars to join and see his email adress (and all the email addresses). Maybe his other good friends can help you too?
There is even a category for old MILITARY friends listed by the branch and unit. Was your friend also in the military? Try that too, same website with a link to the Army, etc.
Personally 30 bucks is more than I'd spend to see old fat bald broke boring braggarts.
