I've thought a lot about this (since my step-father has early-stage Alzheimer's) and I think I just never want to not be able to realize who my daughters are. Mainly, it's because it's the thing I fear most is the day I walk in and he doesn't know who I am. So, I never want them to have to go through that with me. Even if I have to give up all of my other dear memories, I just want to always be able to at least realize who they are and what we mean to each other.

There are so many things that I'd want to remember.... however I am a mother, and I'd want to remember my children, and how special they are to me.
I'm sure that would be hard to handle on either side... is not remembering those special people in your life.

i would want to remember my dogs the most {animal dogs} they are the best and with out them i would be lost. the help me in a million ways every day.

I hope this is not offensive but---after watching it take 5 years for my Mom to die of Alzheimers---I hope to remember to end my life before I can't remember to do it.

disposition. I would hate to be this angry old person. i would want to remember how i like to be kind. it's not that i wouldn't want to remember my loved ones, but i would hate to be lost in some paranoia that they were out to get me.
