It will be a few more years still. For a company to abandon a console while people still use it is ridiculous. They would lose tons of money. Don't expect to see many old, money making franchises still around, Sony will want to put the old favorites on the PS3 to get people to want to buy it. I think that they will stop making PS2 games about when the technology is dated, and most people have moved on to the PS3.

not for a while. xbox still makes games for the original xbox. they are still great systems and they know everybody doesnt have the money to upgrade just yet to ps3 or 360. those games are still selling a lot actually

take in mind sony sold like a million more ps2's that microsoft sold 360 last christmas. im pretty sure ps2's sales are still killing 360's. that may also be because of the crappy lens in the ps2

exceptionally particular Sony thermselves already stopped making PS2 video games. you are suppose to be able to use both playstation 1 and 2 games on the new unit and some still have one or the other unit

in a few years like 2-4 years cause hte ps1 is still popular and ppl still need games to play them
