Well, you may not dilate until you are in labor. When I was 32 weeks pregnant with my first I was 2cm and by the time I was 36 weeks I was 4 cm. My sister-in- law, on the other hand, didn't dilate with either of children and ended up having a c-section for both of them. She is pregnant with her third and will have to schedule another c-section. You can always try walking or light exercise to help your cervix dilate. Give it some time. Good luck!

Depends on how many weeks along you are. Unfortunately you can't will yourself into labor. I stayed 3 cm dilated for 2 weeks before I went into active labor! They say that having sex and allowing your partner to ejaculate inside you can help dilate your cervix. The sperm has prostaglandin in it and that can help soften your cervix. Having an orgasm can stimulate contractions which can also help dilate your cervix. Stimulation of your nipples can also help give you contractions. It helps to release the hormone oxytocin which is what your body will release when you go into active labor. With my last baby I used castor oil to go into labor. However, my cervix was already 90% thinned out, I was 2-3 cm dilated, and I had been having "false" labor for a week. The castor oil just helped to make my contractions regular and put me into active labor. It isn't the most pleasant way to start labor (it makes you have diarrhea) but it worked for me! Good luck!

Walking didn't help me except to keep my mind occupied while I was getting exercise! That baby is going to come when that baby is ready unless you get your labor induced! Good luck! I was in labor for 20 hrs. after getting to the hospital. I started labor almost 11 hours at home before my water broke! Everyone is different! Like I said Good Luck!

have some sex. OR hold a baby (a real one, not a doll) and smell the baby's head. sounds weird, i know, but babies relaese oxytocin through their heads (hence the "baby smell"). your body will release oxytocin like crazy if you smell it from the baby and/or have sex.

good luck.
