Someone asked a question about underage drinking that inspired the following question. I am not promoting any age or any message.

If you had to choose one of the three options listed below which one do you think would be best? Why?

1. Lower the drinking age and the age to buy tobacco
to 16 (can acquire driver's license at 16)

2. Lower the drinking age to 18 and raise the age to
acquire your license to 18 (can buy tobacco).

OR

3. Raise the age to acquire license and buy tobacco
to 21 (drinking age).

I think things are good the way they are, except for one thing....I do think that Driving should stay at 16....and smoking and drinking should be 18......If people, at 18, are developed enough and smart enough to vote, serve in the military, be considered adults, then they should be able to have a beer if they want....however...there is biological evidence that says that the three years between 18 and 21 can have a dramatic effect on how the body reacts to alcohol...that's a tough call.

Got to go with # 2 out of those options, but #4; lower drinking age to 18, keep current driving age but with a horsepower restriction until 18, and outlaw tobacco and legalize marijuana is my preferred choice.

I think that they all need to be different because they are all different issues. In my opinon, drinking and tobacco should be at 16, and driving should be at 18. I think that getting the obbsessions with drinking over before learning how to drive will lower the amount of drunk drivers.

Number 3 sounds best. 16 is way too young to be drinking and smoking cigarettes, kids at this age are still growing and developing. 18 is still too young do go to bars and drink in my opinion.

What about fighting and dying in a war, what about that age?

Don't you find it at all ironic that one can fight and die in a war but still may not be able to have a drink or a smoke?
