I think child abuse or rape is one of the worst crimes as it takes away a child innonce and scars the child for life. I think that yes there should be a life sentence and life should mean life, I do not mean to sound like a physcologist but a majority of child abusers etc have actually been abused themselves or have serious mental illness. This however does not justify what crime this person has committed. I think that yes they need to be taken away from society in a very secure facility, but also given conselling or medical treatment to establish the root cause. I think that medical practicetioners and medical autherities are at fault by not recognising the early signs of mental illness and remove those that are at risk to themselves or others to be placed in a secure unit so that this cannot happen. If i hear about child abuse cases i feel physically sick and just want to cry so do not think that because of what I write above that i feel sorry for these people. I just feel that the system has let us down as it has failed to protect us from those that could harm us. Your points of the question: (1) a sex change what will this achieve nothing unless you get to the root cause this behaviour will continue or if released i dread to think what would happen. (2) If goes to a women prison yes he would be attacked by the other women but it is possible that he could attack them, i wouldn't be prepared to take that risk would you. (3) I do not think that the child would be able to face his/her abuser due to the trauma of the events that have occured, I would never wish for a child to have to come into contact with one of the things he/she has come to fear.

If you castrate rapists and other sex offenders they just use an object instead.
If you give them the death penalty they are more likely to murder their victim to stop them giving evidence.
They should get life in a high security unit as the rest of us have the right to be safe.
You're angry; the best thing you can do is be a safe adult.
Listening to children and learning the facts, and how to deal with it in real life is the only way to help the victims.
They often have trouble getting people to listen and believe them.
Just going off on an angry rant does not help the kid.
Its actually more likely to stop them talking to you if they need help.

I do agree they should get punished but the first two you said i don't agree with. The last one would be good but inhumane. Being a young women coming up to adult hood and being a victim of rap I feel they should be left in jail/prison . They can never change they way they feel or control the urges i don't care what no doctor or anyone says. That's why they have repeaters . They to me are close to murders or even worst because we the victims are forced to live and remember everyday about what happen to us. We never fully get over it.

I'd be happy if they were just given proper prison sentences. But then again the judges do look after their own.
