No I didn't, I had a C-Section.
I heard they usually give enema's to mothers going into labor vaginally.

It happens enough that they (medical) mention that it might happen in child birth. I don't know if I did or not. I only pushed for 15 min with the oldest and 5 with the youngest. It probably also depends on how long the labor is and when you ate last. I also know that majority of hospitals don't give any enemas...that's a lost art. I was a little skittish about a BM at delivery but at the point of labor/delivery you don't care what comes out as long as the pain stops.

I didn't (and I know because I asked my husband months later as an afterthought, at which point I didn't care). By the way, all the people who are saying you get enemas for that, that is so old school - most doctors who are functioning with any kind of modern mentality do not do this anymore. I didn't get one. If you poop, well, poop happens, the doctors and nurses know this. They wipe it up and keep going.

Ah! That is funny you ask that, I was thinking about it the other day... worrying about it actually. I don't want everyone to see me poop! So, I asked my OB about it (he is a really good guy) and he said that it does happen. He also said if I was worried, I could ask for an enema when I get to the hospital. They have all seen it before, the mom poops, the baby poops.... it happens. I told my husband that if I do, he better not ever tell me. :-)

My daughter has had 2 boys. The last time she had a vaginal delivery and did not poop during delivery. She did not have an enema. Most hospitals and DR do not do routine enemas like they did years ago.

Yes, and some of these girls are saying they didn't but I bet you they did, the nurses are quick and wiping it away as soon as you do it and you don't even know. But the pressure of the baby coming downs makes it come out plus all the pushing.

Some women do. It's not a big deal and the doctors and nurses don't make it one either. They see it all. And with all that pushing its natural that a woman would do that anyway.

A lot of women do unless they have had an enema. If there is 'anything' in there, the hard pushing will push everything out.

They give you something for that. But it isnt anything to be embarrased about cuz if anyone was trying to push something that big out they would accidently poop too.

I guess it's pretty common. If you don't go beforehand all the pressure from bearing down can do that. I was so worried with my first that I would, but when it came down to it... I couldn't have cared less! I don't think I even would've noticed at that point!
