salt water is heavier than fresh water. If the water is salty enough, the egg will float. Otherwise, it will sink.

The egg will float in salt water better.
Eggs are more dense than "fresh" water so it will sink, but if you add salt to the water it will become more viscous until it is denser than the egg. That's when the egg will float.
Think of it like a helium ballon in air. Why does that float? It's the same principle.
You can try it at home, just don't waste too much salt.

Do a egg? Never mind science projects, study English!! Everything floats better in salt water. Higher density..

anything would float better in salt water beacause the specific gravity is larger due to higher amount of solute. This will "suspend" the object easier than the extremely low specific gravity of pure water.

try it and find out you could start with plan water and add like a teaspoon at a time and stir it in and see how it displaces the egg..you could also you different eggs like an uncooked egg, an egg put in boiling water for 1 min, 2 min, 3 min, 4 min, and 5 min and see how they might float differently... have fun...

everything floats better in saltwater because there are more molecules in the water causing things to be more bouyant.
