what causes a rainbow?

I have really havn'tt seen one in a long time, and is it common that it happens after a rain fall?

Yes, I agree with the scientific explanations.......But much more is the fact that God created the rainbow after the ark landed from Noahs ark. This was the first time for rain and this was the promise from God to never punish the earth with floods again . With this we are to remember Gods promise.

Yes, when the sun shines thru rainfall. I just saw a really beautiful, full rainbow about 2 weeks ago. It was gorgeous and really bright. I could see all 6 colors very clearly and I could see it end to end. It was amazing!
