There are a few flaws with your question and premises... so it is difficult to answer your question when you have made a choice or want ppl to make a choice of which party being better than the other based on falsities... lies.... untruths...
1. Democrats don't want ppl to not own guns. No clue where you came up with that... I am not just a democrat, I am also far left and very liberal. With that said, I believe in the constitution which I believe pretty much guarantees our right to own a gun... I think you might be confusing gun control with no gun ownership. Gun control is basically, not allowing just anybody to own a gun... like ex-felons, ppl that have been convicted of violent crimes, the mentally ill, etc... It would also include restrictions on the type of weapons we can own... like I don't see why anyone needs to own a machine gun.
2. It appears to me that you are not clear on the definition of communism...
3. My guess would be, from your statement, that you think Planned Parenthood offers abortion as an alternative. Just to let you know, they don't. If a woman tells them they want an abortion, they won't even tell them where they can get one.
4. The ACLU is similar to many law firms in that it simply targets a certain base... in this case, more civil rights. In the end, the courts make the final decisions so I really don't see where your anti-ACLU statement came from except that you are just prejudiced in that area... one of those that get annoyed when you see a minority, etc.. fighting back against discrimination, etc...
To answer the question, which party is best comes down to where you stand on issues... for me, the democratic party matches more with my belief and value system.

"Except Republicans will let you have guns and Democrats don't want you owning one."
"We just need to get rid of the Communist like the founders and members of Planned Parenthood and the ACLU."
Well, I think we know which side of the fence you fall on, so we already know which side's answer will win. Democrats don't want to repeal the Second Amendment (they can't anyway) because it's a right. They want to make sure that those who shouldn't have one, DON'T have one (there are laws in this country which forbid certain people, like convicted felons, from owing them.)
This the same way free speech is enforced. You can say almost anything you want, but you can't go into a building, waving a gun, saying "I'm gonna kill so-and-so". That may be your opinion, but you can be arrested for it, since it doesn't fall within reason for Free Speech.
So if Republicans would prefer that every gang-banger, murderer, armed-robber, and psycho-wannabe sniper have a gun to do with want they want, then so be it, the rest of us will either hide in fear, flee the country, or armed ourselves to the teeth, and anytime someone unknown to you approaches your house, they're shot, because you never know whether he had a gun or not. Accidental shootings would also increase, all because some conservatives think that there should be NO restrictions on gun control.
Is that REALLY the world you want to live in?
Gun ownership is a right, yes, but all rights can, and sometimes must, be enforced, to protect the citizens.

Personally I have belonged to both of these political parties and find my core values are held by the Republican party - anti -abortion, gun owner, non gay marriage. There are good and bad member's in each party - only a mute fool would think otherwise. I understand this country's government is run of taxes but there are no reason for every social ill to be funded by the government as the Democrats seem to believe. Good honest work never killed anyone so there is no need for generation after generation of welfare families.
You have some of your facts wrong - the ACLU's founding fathers were Communists which could be why they fight religious issues. From what I could find out the founder of Planned Parenthood started it in 1916.

I am a registered Democrat but I vote for the person and not the party. I did not vote for Bush because of the way that he and Katherine Harris handled the Florida elections.
I voted Democratic, this time, because I feel as though we need a change. I'm so sick of this war and the way the American people are putting down the Muslims who came to this country for a better way of life. If I hear the word Islam one more time I'm going to scream. Maybe the Democrat's won't do as good of a job, but I believe in giving them a chance.

I believe it all depends on how you look at it. You, sir, seem to have a very negative outlook and that may be why you ask this question. The party you believe is best is the party you find the most common values with. Judging only by this pragraph of a question, you want to blame both parties...so if you fell so strongly about it, why complain? Do something.
Find something you want to fix in this world, and fix it.

it really is a vicious cycle. it truly is my opinion, so get your "thumbs down" waiting. the way I see it really is that McCain and the Republicans recognize their rules brought about disaster on quite a few fronts, they understand they might want to run from their personal president, hence the in straight forward words ingredient they could do is lash out and make the campaign about the different guy, a lot less concentration on their area is better ideal. regrettably, they're experts at this (Google Lee Atwater), Obama is their moist dream : a bi-racial, tremendous smart guy with a non-anglo call. they received't out-top hate Obama, they hate the perception of Obama. a guy who made it with the help of exertions and own duty, the guy actually pulled himself through his personal bootstraps. Any party in the international might want to take Obama as their figure head, even the Republicans, for sure they could tweak what he says, yet they need they'd their personal Obama and they do no longer. i believe that the Obama campaign has sharpened their approaches, depending on pressure from Democrats who choose him to strive against decrease back and strive against puzzling adversarial to McCain. very last element: a tender Republican change into introducing McCain at a rally and ha said "they have were given their Tiger Woods and we've McCain!"

WOW John, you hit it right on. I see where one of your answers was the Dem's do want gun's. No.they don't and everyone knows that. Al Gore lost to Bush because his own state voted him right out of the Presidency. WHY? Because he didn't want to give us the right to bear arms. Out west those are also fighting words. I can't recall right now but Al Gore is from one of the southern states. They love their guns too. Better look to the Republicans. I do believe in paying taxes in order to have the services we enjoy from the tax. Paved roads, the infrastructure in each city and town. I wont begin to list all that our taxes go for. I just would like them spent with some intelligent thought. My problem is how they are spent. I don't think there is enough said about how they spend our tax money. They the public looks at politics in the wrong light. To worried about the crap that goes on. Bashing and not knowing what is important.

They both have their problems, but I think on average the republicans are a little (very little) closer to where our forefathers would want the country. Telling by the way you wrote the question, I think you should check out the Constitution party- they're pro-life, pro-rights, and mostly Christian.

Republicans are better. Dems want to repeal the 2nd amendment (Restrict or even ban private ownership if firearms), the 1st amendment (Free speech vs PC) & the 10th amendment (states rights).
