I am 18 and still a virgin and my friends tease and belittle me all teh time because of it. They've labled virginity as if it were a disease of some sort, I wanna know is it? I mean everywhere you look there is sex everywhere. I find myself asking is it worth it to be made fun of by even my sisters and brothers? I personally just wanna wait til i find someone I'm ready to give that to. I'm not a prude and I'm not waiting for marriage, just someone special. But its hard even my 14 year old niece has had sex before! I'm not saying that women who have chosen to have sex already are in any way less than I am. Everytime I see questions like this people seem to be applauding the virgin who asked the question. I do't want applause I just would like some advice on how to stick to my guns, because with all the peer pressure I just feel like I should, even though I'm not ready.

FIRST of all congradulations!!! You are DOING the right thing. Ask your friends what they got out of fornicating or adultery? Go ahead ask them. Yep, that's right, MORE fornicating and adultery!!! Not only that, but God does NOT (no with a T) approve of sexual relations OUTSIDE of marriage. Hope you find that special person that feels the same way as you do.

No, virginity is NOT a bad thing!! I wasn't when I was your age, and when I met my husband, we BOTH wished we were still virgins, that we could have been each others' first. That would have been so, so special. It's what I want for my daughters, not to have that regret. The sex without the love is not special, not that great, just another "thing." No applause for you, but you do need to stick to your guns, because YOU are the only person who will live with YOUR decision the rest of your life. Not the others who think they know what is best for you. You're the only one who knows that, and you should be the only one to decide.

You should wait because you are not ready. Just think that you will have something very special to offer to that very special person. My 17 year old cousin is also a virgin and has not buckled in under the pressure. She carries a ATM card Abstinence Til Marriage the back of the card states. "It's my choice. I choose to be free from loss of respect, unwanted pregnancy, a sexually transmitted disease, etc. I am a valuable person. I am a gift to my future spouse and myself I choose abstinence until marriage."and whips that card out at the drop of a hat. It is very important that you stand for what you believe in. Babe, there is absolutely nothing wrong with being a virgi, and its fine that you want to wait for someone special. i did and im older than you. i do not see why family and friends are belittle you because of your faith and wanting to be safe in a sexually way. Another thing, your 14 yr. old neice needs to not be having sex. The younger you are, thats just sad. where are the parents. my goodness, you are right, sex is everywhere and its sad. Children are just sleeping around likes its nothing. Your virginity is importan and you should wait for marriage or for that person you will spend the rest of ur life with. keep ur legs close and tell ur friends to mind their business. I would not be hurt and ashamed that you are a virgin, its perfectly fine, and yes you should be applauded there is nothing wrong with that. I feel that you are right! Wait until the right person comes along and only when the time is right for you and that person. I had sex for the first time when I was 14 and now that I am 29 I wish I would have waited. You should be very proud of your virginity. God Bless.

it's not a disease or anything of that sort. it's just a personal choice that one decided to take for the time being. there's nothing wrong with waiting at all. i'm 20 right now, and didn't lose my virginity till i was 18. yes, i got ridiculed at times because of it, but that's life and that's what guys do. guys normally are that way when interacting with other guys. just be true to yourself and do what you feel is right.

Wait until you are ready.
I didn't have sex until I was 21. I don't regret anything about it either.
I cared about and trusted the person I had sex with. He was a very close friend that knew my choices. He also respected my choice to wait until I was ready.
Don't feel pressured by the ignorance around you. Do what you want.

If your a virgin, then wait for the right person. Once you have sex your going to want it over and over and over again. Dont loose it right now just with anybody. Dont listen to the people who make fun of you. Its just plain dumb to do something because others are making fun of you. Do it when your ready.

Most people who have had sex young either found the one they been waiting to give it to. or have been stuck under the pressures from people to have sex. i am 15 years old and have had sex with the one person i do care about alot. i didnt feel under pressure at all. i did for awhile when i wouldnt have sex with him right away from his friends but i ahd to wait to make sure he was the right one i had waited a year before having sex with him. If you fall under pressure youll regret it most likly and it wont be as special. theres someone out there who will respect that.

People belittle those who they feel inferior to. Just keep feeling good about who you are and know that YOU are in control of your own life. Do it when you are ready and not one minute sooner.
