Take your money to the midwest. Rent is way cheaper in the small towns. I have never paid more than 250.00 a month and have lived in some very nice apartments. Many farmers have land with older homes on them that just need someone living in them. With farm houses come barns, usually. Sometimes there are just barns. Hard to say. I live in SE Nebraska and have loved it my whole life. I have also lived in SE Iowa and also enjoyed that emensly. In Bloomfield, IA I lived in a newly redone apartment with one office, two large bedrooms, an utility room, two family-type rooms, a dining room, and a large kitchen with an island in it and way more cupboard space than I could possibly use. I came across this opportunity when I worked at a hospital making minimal wages. A doctor owned the apartment and decided that it would suit me fine. He was a good man looking to lend a hand, and I in turn tried to do the same for others. Anyway, back on track, I think the midwest is the best. You get the benefit of all the seasons, cheaper living, good people, cleaner air, and much more. With 30,000.00 you could probably get yourself set up pretty decently, and then if you are disabled you could qualify for disability so that you would not have to worry so much about how you are going to keep a roof over your head. If you are still able to do some kind of work there are opportunities for that too. Good Luck and God Bless.

You might be able to afford a tiny one bedroom used condo or a used doublewide on .25 acres for 30,000. No way you could afford what you are talking about.

This guy sounds like bad news and a loser. When your friends throw you out, you did something pretty bad. You can't just ignore his "bad past". It's a good indicator of what his future will be--and it's not good. Why do you wan't to be with this guy? You can't fix him. He has to grow up and take responsibility for himself and stop sponging off his (ex) friends.
