My 53 Corsa (38k) gear stick was refusing to move when I selected 2nd gear a couple of times yesterday. Today it fails 9 times out of 10 and 1st gear is the same. Its fine in 3 to 5 and the clutch pedal is totally normal, no give. Can anyone help? Is it my gearbox? And if so I'm a month away from end of 3 year Vauxhall warrantee, will I be covered? Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

its the gear linkage they have redesigned the linkage now so when you replace it it won`t happen again.

if your clutch is fine and working correctly then it sounds like the selectors in your gear box are out of alignment or your actual gear stick linkage isn't selecting properly, either way get it into a dealership while you still have warranty and let them sort it out for you , but check first that gearbox is covered in the warranty paperwork they have a tendency to shy away from gearbox re-builds or replacements . good luck

Could be either the gear linkages on the top of the gearbox, easy job to sort, selector in the gearbox or the syncromesh rings. If it's under warranty, then it should be covered. Phone the dealer tomorrow.

sounds like positioned on in the equipment linkage, is there a large style of move left to top at the same time as in equipment? no longer puzzling to fix, have a glance below and down the decrease back of the engine at the same time as someone strikes the equipment lever and spot in case you'll discover any obtrusive slack in the linkage.

get it to the garage nooooooow!!!

if it's under warranty then let those feckers find out what's wrong and sort it for you. You'll get an extension of warranty on the work carried out and it'll save you heaps of cash!
