making handmade jewellery?

i would like to learn to make my own handmade jewellery - bead making etc.....does anyone have any good ideas/tips on it - any really good ideas on how to make stunning jewellery? any help much appreciated!! cheers guys xx

Use wire, you'll be suprised at what you can do! You can twist the wire around the bead and make a loop for the next one. That's my favorite. Another cool idea is to use paper. It's cheap, fun, and it turns out really well. start by taking a peice of paper with a design on it. Then, cut the paper into triangles. Make should they are very long and thin. They should be the same length as the paper. When you're done cutting, start rolling the paper, starting with the thicker end of the triangle. Make sure that there is a hole you can use to put the string through. When you've reached the top, put on a dab of glue. You should add on some beads to make the necklace heavier, or it won't hang right. For some more ideas, there are a lot of books you can buy that have a lot of ideas.

This website http://www.juwelen.be/ned/designers.asp has a lot of up and coming designers and I've found some lovely gifts on here. Maybe handy to see what is being done and see if anything clicks as something you'd like to explore. I know the ring which has a tiny holder for a flower is a very cool concept.

I started by simple practice, also just go to stores and check out some of the jewelry, start copying, and eventually your own designs will come out.

try going to walmart and hobby lobby and getting some essentials
1.seed beads
2. glass beads
3. wire or other string
4. fasteners
5. needle nose pliers

then you need to do what you like. try finding websites that show you pics. or look at stuff you have.
