i think it's part of the FCC part 15 regulations. I might mean "compliance enginneering" or "consumer electronics" or something else. Any takers?

Actually, the CE mark is a European designation, used for products to be sold in Europe. See the wikipedia link for more information.

The CEmark identifies a product as complying with the health and safety requirements of the European union.
