I like Pappadeaux in Arlington for the cajun food. I travel all the time and whenever I am in the area I go there. The food is great (I love the crawfish platter) and the atmosphere is funky. You don't have to dress up. And they make yummy drinks there...try the Swamp thing. It is a blended margarita with Midori and Chambord -- wonderful!!!

Del Frisco near the Galleria... Farmer's Branch, I guess would be the town, has incredible steaks and a spectacular shrimp appetizer. It's expensive, but charming and worth every penny.

I Fratelli's for Italian (Irving); Mercado Juarez for Tex-Mex/Mexican (one in Arlington and one in Dallas) and Cristina's (Addison); Pasand's for Indian (Irving again); Empress of China (Dallas and Irving). I tried not to give you any of those national chain restaurants!
