I have them and I'm not sure if I'm sick or if it was just something I ate. Possibly the hardboiled egg...?

The flatulence may mean that your body has not received the proper complimentary amino acids in your diet. (e.g. beans by itself give you gas, but eat them with rice, and the two foods compliment each other to reduce your gas.)
Food high in sulphur (such as eggs) also produces a lot of gas.
The "hot" of your flatulence probably means you ate something hot. Did you have paprika on your hard boiled egg?

Eggs have a lot of sulphur in the yellow part, if they're not frsh, part of this sulfur comes out of organic binding proteins and forms sulfur salts, which reacts with acids (like the one in your stomach) and other stuff to yield HS, which smells like rotten eggs.
If the smell doesn't go away, or if it's not "eggy", you might have an altered intestinal microbiota, which means you have bacteria taht shouldn't normally be there, that produces strange-smelling products. They could have come in something you ate. Consult a doctor but only if it gets very bad or if the condition lasts too long. He can advise the use of a correct antibiotic or antiparasite.
Sometimes women have strange smelling farts because of hormones, right during the shedding of the endometrium.
Hope it helps.

Perhaps you ate something spicy, like a bean burrito or spicy hot chilli. Try using an OTC remedy called Bean-O if you can identify the food causing the problem. Or just flick your BIC and light them. My barracks buds and I used to do this for amusement many moons ago: they make a pretty blue flame, two or three inches long.
