To do the problem, you write 4/5 X 1/4 (to divide fractions, you flip the thing you're dividing over, so instead of 4/1, you have 1/4), and get 1/5.

there can only be 5 fifths total which is 5/5 or 1 whole. So to divide 4/5 by 4 you could also ask yourself what times what equals 4/5 or how many fifths does it take to make 4/5? When you ask yourself "how many fifths does it take to make 4/5" your answer is already there in your question......the answer is 4.
