Are all of the Superman movies going in order and is the storyline still going or are most of them just remakes? And if I wanted to watch them all in order which one would I need to watch first? Second? And so on...

The Superman Movies go in a modified order.
The new movies will follow Part II (Holding Part 1 and 2 of the old series in a vauge continuity)
So, if you were to watch them:
Superman
Superman 2 (The Donner Cut)
Superman Returns
Superman Returns Sequel and so on...
If you want to see some other movies, you could watch the other movies in the series
Superman 3
Superman 4: Quest for Peace
Supergirl
But none of them are truely going to follow in the series anymore as they were written out of continuity!

Watch:
Superman the movie.
Superman 2 the Donner cut. (coming out 11-28-06)
Superman Returns (also coming out 11-28-06)
The other two really werent that good. But......
Also for your viewing pleasure, go back and watch Superman 2 the original.

Watch Superman:The Movie and the Superman2: The Richard Donner Cut and follow up with Superman Returns.
You could watch the original cut of 2 but you don't have to.
You don't have to watch 3&4 they really have nothing to do with the others but you could just to say you did.

Robert B is correct. You could enjoy Superman Returns without having seen Superman The Movie and Superman II but they do make references to events that occured in the first two movies in Superman Returns. I also agree with him that Superman III and IV were poor efforts.

Superman, The Movie
Superman II
Superman Returns
Don't waste your time on Superman III and Superman IV.

if u want a really good superman movie, eatch the donner cut of superman II, supposedly a lot better than original version
