What are simple some ways to make light?

The easiest way to make light is to heat a material until it incandesces meaning gives off light. A good way of generating this heat is by burning something. Gas lantern works off this principle, as do bonfires. Go build a fire!

Building a light bulb is much harder, and I wouldn't attempt it.
